Hi, My name is Alberto Rodríguez: Kiko. I am an artist and a designer. This site is a short selection my personal work portfolio and a way to introduce my professional services in the various branches of creativity and communication to all of my visitors. I work as a professional since 1996, the year I graduated as a designer at the Institute of Industrial Design in Havana, Cuba. During the first 4 years of my career, I worked as the creative director of the design team of the National Museum of Natural History in Havana, the largest in the country. The team and I were responsible for the design of its new image. During those years, I participated for several weeks, in a design specialization course at the most important museums of Canada. Alongside, I also dedicated my time to draw and to publish cartoons on various newspapers on the island, where I have been awarded on several national competitions. Since 2000 I have been living in Quito, Ecuador. I have worked as a design and illustration professor in two Institutes of Design. I have founded two successful industrial design companies, where I performed as the creative director and senior designer for important projects, for companies such as: Marlboro, Nestle, Kraft Nabisco, Nivea, Banco Pichincha Unibanco, Toyota, Pinturas Condor Expocolor, TVCable, Bayer, Movistar, Porta, FLACSO, Ministry of Culture, among others. As an illustrator I have won several prizes on international events and at the time I have five personal exhibits of my work. I am a contributor to various print media in Ecuador and my artwork can be seen in many everyday advertising graphics products. Currently, I am starting another project on my own focused on a different teamwork model. I will try to emphasize that, from now on, the philosophy of my work be: Design in terms of improving the human condition and of helping our planet to be a more comfortable home.
